Chantal is the founder and director of Code-V: Accelerating Women’s Entrepreneurship, an alliance of 135 public and private organisations working together to secure more funding for female entrepreneurs. Code-V publishes an annual data report on the funding gap and launches initiatives for funders and female entrepreneurs to promote women’s entrepreneurship.
Prior to that, Chantal Korteweg worked as Director of Social Impact and Inclusive Banking at ABN AMRO, from 2021 to 2026, and was a member of ABN AMRO’s Ethics Committee. In that role, she had a bank-wide mandate to make ABN AMRO’s products and services more inclusive and accessible to customers (in particular female customers and customers from culturally diverse backgrounds). In addition, she also carried out a bank-wide mandate to contribute to creating social impact for the bank’s customers and stakeholders.
From 2008 to 2021, Chantal worked at FMO, the Dutch Development Bank, in various positions, including Head of Strategy and a member of the bank’s Executive Committee. In 2022, she was nominated as one of the 50 female Dutch leaders in sustainable finance and one of the 30 Dutch inclusive leaders (Sprout).
In 2023, Chantal was appointed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs as the Dutch representative to the UN Women’s Committee, during which she addressed the United Nations General Assembly.
Chantal is also co-author of the book SOS: A Navigation Guide for Women at Work, published in the US and the Netherlands (2025). She also hosts interactive workshops based on the book. Chantal is the mother of a son and a daughter and lives in Leiden.
